A family member starting a handyman small business commissioned me to make a custom logo for their new business. It was to be used used primarily for van decals and business cards.
The brand is MMS - Maintenance Made Simple
^^ Sometimes, an idea strikes like lightning. This was the case with MMS.
I was searching for a way to combine the letters into a single unified shape. It was at this point I found that the letter M at an angle looks like the corner of a wall. From here I used the perspective to create a box shape, which developed into a house, with a roof and chimney.
Despite these details, the design was still rather minimal and fit neatly into a hexagonal silhouette.
^^ Once the design was in place, the brand colours came together quickly.
A strong monochromatic scheme would help make the logo readable, while the red accent would give it the pop it needs to stand out.
In keeping with the brand, we kept the business cards simple, with just the essential contact information present.
^^ With business cards designed, it was time to move on to a larger canvas...
With a silver van already purchased for the new business, and a limited budget, I began laying out the design for the van decals with the client.
^^ Equipped with the scale images of the particular van model, we began blocking out the final van decals.
Now, to send them away for printing!
^^ The finished print.
Ewan, owner of MMS, was incredibly happy with his new van decals and business cards. He's kept busy with his maintenance work, but receives many compliments on his newly branded van!
